Scholarship

Scholarship at Year 13 is encouraged for girls who know they will respond positively to the extreme rigour imposed. Students may attempt scholarship in any subjects, but we encourage them to refrain from spreading themselves too thinly. One scholarship gained is preferable to three missed.

The scholarship mentor is Mrs Barbara Foote. She spends time with each of the students to encourage positive habits of mind, time management and independent learning strategies. She also liaises with tutors in individual subject areas when the need arises. Liaising with tutors and students from other schools to provide different viewpoints is also part of the process.
