Morning Hostel Supervisor

Napier Girls’ High School is located in Ahuriri, Napier, and provides education for students in Years 9-13. The School is one of the oldest in New Zealand for girls. It celebrates its traditions, and its values of Manaakitanga (respect and caring), Kairangi Whaiaro (personal excellence) and Whanaungatanga (relationships and connections). The School Hostel, Hewett House, with 175 boarders, is part of the main campus.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring person, to be part of the Hostel Supervisor team.  

  • Monday to Friday – 4 hours per day: 6.15am – 10.15am (20 hours per week, term time only). 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have a genuine interest in the pastoral care of young people.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills; with the ability to relate well and respond with empathy to the needs of the boarding students, parents and staff.
  • Be culturally responsive and inclusive.
  • Hold a full driver's licence.
  • Comply with legislative requirements and will require clearance to work with young people in accordance with the Vulnerable Children Act.

School Cleaners x2

We have two Cleaner vacancies available:

Position 1: 13 hours per week during term-time
Monday to Thursday, 3.00pm – 5.30pm
Friday, 3.00pm – 6.00pm
Once a term during the school holidays – special big clean of all areas – total
of 24 hours.

Position 2: 12.5 hours per week during term-time
Monday to Friday, 3.00pm – 5.30pm
Once a term during the school holidays – special big clean of all areas – total
of 24 hours.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial cleaning or school cleaning. They will have good time-management skills, and be efficient and thorough.
