Hostel Evening Supervisor

Napier Girls’ High School is located in Ahuriri Napier, and provides education for students in Years 9-13. The school is one of the oldest in New Zealand for girls. It celebrates its traditions, and its values of Manaakitanga (respect and caring), Kairangi Whaiaro (personal excellence) and Whanaungatanga (relationships and connections). The school hostel, Hewett House, with 175 boarders, is part of the main campus.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring person to be part of the Hostel Supervisor team.  

• Five evenings per week: Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 10:30pm and Sunday 6:30pm to 10:00pm

• 31 hours and 30 minutes per week, term time only 

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have a genuine interest in the pastoral care of young people.

• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and respond with empathy to the needs of the boarding students, parents and staff.

• Be culturally responsive and inclusive.

• Hold a full driver's licence

• Comply with legislative safety checks, including New Zealand Police Vetting, as a Core Worker in accordance with the Children’s Act 2014 and the Education and Training Act 2020.
