Dance is a Co-Curricular activity at NGHS and is gaining in strength every year. 

There is a strong Dance Club which meets every week to focus on choreography and performance.

Students are able to work towards Level 1, 2 and 3 NCEA achievement standards.

In 2021 NGHS had amazing success at DanceNZMade, which involved 60 of our students over a 2-day event and 79 entries from 6 high schools (18 from us).  

These are our accolades that we are very proud of:
1st place - Year 9/10 ‘C’est la vie’ (Junior Champions - to represent HB at Nationals)
Open Contemporary - ‘Don’t worry about me’ (Highest Scoring Team for NGHS - to represent HB at Nationals)
‘Tua’ (Competing in the Tahi entry and representing HB at Nationals)
Mercedes Lang - She Shines On soloist to represent HB at Nationals

Golden Tickets - Stella Hammond-Olsen and Mercedes Lang (to compete in November with other NZ finalists and an opportunity to win one of ten $1000 scholarships to support dance training)
